Earth, Northern British Isles: 681 CE.

“ Forgive me for bring so forward, My Lord. But I don’t think this is wise. These creatures aren’t developed enough..emotionally. They lack the intellectual integrity to communicate with us. They won’t be able to understand us, even in these tangible forms and how we’ve reconstructed our bodies to exist on this tangible layer so the stars won’t vaporize us... They’re so.. primitive and they can’t even make peace amongst themselves..” Talathia warned, half ranted.. The she-wolf bristled beside him as she watched a small group of humans gather around a small fire. Alhazred, her lord and master had taken a more sympathetic approach to the dominate species of this planet. She couldn’t understand why. They have been observing the humans for months- it was best to stay in the Arctic where they’d be unseen. At least for now.

Talathia dressed in comfortable clothing, and slight armor. Her white wild mane like hair hung down her back, with her bat like ears twitched and turned to hear the sounds around them. Her lover, and lord Alhazred wore a massive mask like crown which he had always used to conceal the upper parks of his body and face. Layers of various robes did their best to hide his mass. Under his robes the lower parts of his body which were tendrils and shadow like limbs floated under him, with a large scorpion tail at his back, and clawed limbs rest non-threateningly at his front.

The humans talked and laughed, enjoying their meager meal of rabbit stew as it shimmered over a fire. Their words barely audible from Alhazred and Talathia’s hiding space from the space above.

“ Nonsense, you’re being prejudice against someone who looks different than you. You abhorred that behavior back home, when others would judge me for my own appearance.” Alhazred chided her.

“ That is WHY I am saying this is unwise, They’ll judge YOU.”

“ You don’t know that.”

“ I wish you weren’t so optimistic, Master.”

“ We can assist them and they can assist us. We need hope if we’re going to survive on this strange land. ”

“ Hope?” she scoffed. “ Hope is for fools.” She lashed her tail, and let out a his when it hit rocks that rolled down the side of the hill. Giving away their position. The travelers quickly jumped to their feet and looked around, paranoid. Fear in their eyes.

“ Who’s there!?” one shouted.

“ I suppose I should introduce myself. It is rude to spy.” He floated towards them, Talathia leapt to land beside him where he levitated a few meters away from the human camp. Her hand rested on the hilt of her long sword.

“ Greetings Earthlings, I am Alhazred, and this is my lovely traveling companion Talathia. My race and I have come the Hyades start cluster in hopes to seek refuge on your humble planet. we bring technology and renewable energy which will be far more beneficial to the long-nativity of your planet than the coal and timber you burn."

“ It’s a demon!” One man screamed.

“ I beg your pardon?” Alhazred chuckled. “ What is a demon? I’m sorry- maybe you misunderstand, we’re beings from the stars-” one of the men reached down and threw a stone at him. Talathia instinctively blocked it and had it go rolling back to the men. They coward and stepped back. One fired and arrow and it hit Talathia in the arm, she yelped at the sharp pain, but quickly pulled it out, her energy flickered where the wound was, and it closed.

“ Master, it isn’t safe for you here.” She said to him, not taking her eyes off of the humans. “ I doubt they can actually hurt you. But it isn’t worth the risk.”

“ They just need to understand we mean them no harm-”

“ I don’t think they want to understand.” As she watched the others quickly gather their weapons and arm themselves.

“ Demon! Leave this place!” another man, unarmed, held up a simple cross. “ Begone!” he began throwing water at them from a small bottle. Talathia chuckled at his actions.

“ They’re a superstitious lot, they think their magic water can ward us.” More arrows flew in their direction, but the trembling hands of the archers caused most of them to miss. One went through Alhazred’s robe, but did not injure him. “ We must go, now!” she ordered. He quickly took her in one of his tendrils by the hip, his clawed hands graped her as if protectively, and the two teleported away in a sphere of light.
